One day home from Landcruiser Mountain Park and we are already packing again. The boys don't have to work so we decide to go to Kinkuna National Park to visit our friends Ron and Eve and their four girls, who have been camping there since Saturday. Kinkuna is one of our favorite spots. It is only 1,5 hours from home, large camping spots in the shade with views on the beach... and all this for free!
We left Wednesday at 11 am. At 11.45 am we stopped in Childers to have our lunch. Then we continued. Just before we could go on the beach, the Patrol got stuck in the sand. Stephen had tried to do it without dropping the tire pressure which obviously was no good idea. We had to pull out the winch to get us out. After lowering the pressure, we continued on the beach but got stuck there again. We never had the sand being this bad before! Luckily another driver stopped to help us, as the tide was getting in, we were very thankful for his help.
A bit later we arrived at the campsite with no further problems. We set up camp and the boys rushed to the water, where they stayed until we called them for dinner. But straight after dinner they went back to the water. They stayed there until bedtime; we sat around a campfire until bedtime.
The next morning we relaxed a bit and then it was time to pack again and leave. On the way back we stopped at Mammino's and enjoyed a delicious ice cream.
